We’re excited to announce a special competition in honour of Yorkshire Day (1st August)! As a proud Yorkshire-based company, we are thrilled to celebrate this regional day by giving away a luxurious “Taste of Yorkshire” hamper from Yorkshire’s Finest Hampers to one lucky winner.
Did you know? Yorkshire Day is celebrated on August 1st each year! But where did it all start?
Yorkshire Day was officially established by the Yorkshire Ridings Society in 1975. The society intended the celebration day to promote local pride and preserve the unique identity of Yorkshire amid boundary changes that were happening at the time. However, the origins of the date of this celebration can also be traced back to a couple of key historical and cultural events.
Over time, Yorkshire Day has evolved into a broader celebration of all things related to our fine county of Yorkshire, including our history, culture, cuisine, and contributions to the arts and sciences. It serves as a day for Yorkshire folk and those with Yorkshire heritage to celebrate their roots and the distinct identity of this historic English county.
This exclusive hamper is filled with a selection of the finest local delicacies, offering a true taste of Yorkshire. To enter the competition, simply head over to our Instagram and Facebook pages, or send an email with your name to alisha@albemarlehomes.co.uk.
