Marcia and Alan find their perfect home at Westmoor Grange

When Marcia and Alan decided it was time to downsize, the energy efficiency and lower maintenance of a new-build home were a major part of its appeal.

The couple moved from South Elmsall, near Pontefract, and chose an Albemarle Home at Westmoor Grange in Armthorpe to be closer to their daughter, who had moved to the area two years earlier.

Marcia, a library manager, said: “We had viewed homes from other developers nearby, but none of them offered what we were looking for. Our daughter had moved to Armthorpe two years earlier and suggested we visit Albemarle.”

“The show home was beautiful and we were impressed by everything included as standard, including the flooring, integrated appliances and the choice of kitchen finishes and bathroom tiles,” Marcia continued.

“There was no sales pressure either, Alisha took the time to explain the different house types, plots and prices, and we returned several times at different times of the day. We walked around the development, spoke to residents, which helped us get a real feel for the community.”

Marcia and Alan chose a detached Rosebery home on a corner plot. Its layout, south-facing garden and abundance of natural light made it stand out.

“We loved the layout of the Rosebery, and the partly walled garden gave us the privacy we wanted,” said Marcia. “The bi-fold doors let in so much natural light, and the south-facing garden and lounge were a real bonus after living in a house with a north-facing lounge.”

The couple used Albemarle Exchange scheme, which enabled them to reserve their chosen plot while receiving support with the sale of their existing home.

“It took away much of the stress of selling and meant we knew we could move when our new home was ready, without worrying about being caught in a chain,” Marcia explained.

Having lived in their new home for a couple of weeks, Marcia concluded: “Everyone who has visited us has been surprised by how much is included as standard. We love it here and would 100 per cent recommend Albemarle Homes.”
