What is Part Exchange with Albemarle Homes?

If you already have a home to sell and, are either having difficulty selling it on the open market or, don’t want the hassle, our PX partner will simply purchase your home from you (subject to meeting qualifying criteria).

How does Part Exchange work?

After choosing your new Albemarle home, we’ll ask for details about the property you wish to sell. This information is promptly transmitted to our dedicated PX partner.

Step 1: Introducing our PX Partners

You can expect a call from our dedicated PX partner team within 24-48 hours of them receiving your property details.

Step 2: Qualifying for Part Exchange

To determine the value of your home, our partner team of experienced underwriters will source valuations from two independent local estate agents. If needed, a complimentary survey from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors is conducted. This robust evaluation process ensures accuracy and transparency.

Step 3: Offer Presented

Following the valuation, our PX partner will provide you with a no-obligation offer. Importantly, there are no contracts to sign for either party. If the offer doesn’t align with your expectations, you can simply opt not to proceed.

Step 4: Your Choice

If you accept the offer, the sale of your existing property and the PX process officially begins. You gain the flexibility of choosing from various completion dates on the sale of your existing home, allowing you to focus on your upcoming move with the assurance that your sale is guaranteed and secure from any unexpected setbacks.

Step 6: After Sale Support

We understand the importance of a smooth transition. Therefore, our PX partner will provide an additional 14 days post-completion for you to access your old property. This allows you to move at your own pace or use the time to personalise your new Albemarle home.

While Part Exchange has its advantages, it’s essential to be aware of a few key points:

Pros:

  1. Reliability: PX guarantees a smooth process with no costly broken chains.
  2. Ease: Choose a completion date that fits in with your new home build plan.
  3. Pace: Sell your home as is and complete the transaction in as little as 7 days.

Cons:

  1. Valuation: PX may offer below market value for your property.
  2. Eligibility: Not all properties are suitable for PX; it depends on type, location, and condition.
  3. Circumstances: PX may not be suitable for everyone based on their financial situation.
