Celebrating Women in Construction Week at Albemarle Homes

As part of Women in Construction Week, we are proud to recognise the talented women that help to shape our homes and our business.

Construction has traditionally been seen as a male-dominated industry, but across Albemarle Homes, women are playing a vital role in every part of the company, from land acquisition and commercial management to site-based trades, customer care and leadership.

In fact, we are proud that over 50% of our directly employed workforce are women, reflecting our belief that talent, dedication and capability, not gender, is what truly matters.

We have women contributing across the full life cycle of our new homes developments including:

  • Catherine, Land and Planning graduate, helps identify and secure new opportunities that will become future communities.
  • Jade, Quantity Surveyor, plays a key role in managing the project costs and ensuring developments are delivered efficiently and responsibly.
  • Charlotte J, Head of HR and Apprenticeships, supports recruitment, wellbeing and skills development across the business.
  • Charlotte K, Head of Sales, leads the customer journey from first enquiry to handing over the keys.
  • Alisha, Sales and Marketing Assistant, supports the promotion of our development and customer communications.
  • Demi, Aftercare Co-ordinator, ensures buyers continue to feel supported long after they’ve moved into their new home.
  • Lucy, Apprentice Painter and Decorator, is building her career on site, gaining hands-on experience showing the value of apprenticeships in the construction sector.

Together, they represent the expanse of opportunity available within modern housebuilding, from technical and trade roles to strategic leadership and customer-focused positions.

Women in Construction Week is not just about celebrating progress, it is  also about encouraging future generations to see construction as a career opportunity.

Managing Director, Darryl Barker, commented: “At Albemarle Homes, we firmly believe in employing the right person for the right job. Talent, commitment and attitude are what define success, not gender.

“We’re incredibly proud to have women working across such a wide range of roles within our business, from site-based apprentices to senior leadership positions. Housebuilding offers diverse and rewarding career paths, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.”
