UPDATED 5th Jan 2021 – Buying With Albemarle Homes During Covid-19

Following the Government’s announcement on Monday 4^th January 2021 we want to assure our customers of our continued operations.  The health and wellbeing of our staff and customers has been at the forefront of our focus during this entire Coronavirus pandemic.   And, under Government guidance we have continued, and will continue, to build and safely move customers into their new homes within the local communities of South Yorkshire and North Nottinghamshire.

The Government guidance for homebuyers states:

“You can still move home. People outside your household or support bubble should not help with moving house unless absolutely necessary. Estate and letting agents and removals firms can continue to work. If you are looking to move, you can go to property viewings. Follow the national guidance on moving home safely, which includes advice on social distancing, letting fresh air in, and wearing a face covering.”

We are continuing to remain extremely vigilant and have adopted a Covid-secure approach across our developments and within our head office. These measures are reviewed at pinnacle times to ensure we continue to operate within any new guidance.

Keeping everyone safe

The range of measures implemented to keep both staff, customers and potential homebuyers as safe as possible include:

• Changes to our home viewing and choosing options procedures
• Enhanced cleaning and hand over procedures on completion day
• Social distancing for workers on sites
• Changes to our program of works to ensure limited worker capacities within properties
• Flexible home working for office staff
• New website including more detailed information for customers

Visiting us

Our priority is to keep customers and our team safe and we want to reassure you that the changes we have made, and measures that have been put in place, mean we are still able to welcome you to our developments as soon as you are ready.

To ensure we keep within guidelines and still continue to provide the personal service we are renowned for, all we ask is that you call us before you visit to make an appointment.

We have increased times between appointments to allow for an enhanced cleaning regime, meaning that you can confidently view properties and handle choice options safe in the knowledge that we have minimised the contamination risk. We have also developed this new website which includes much more information about our developments and properties available.

With these measures already in place on site and within our sales and options centre, and with our dedicated sales team available to guide you through the process, we are confident that you’ll feel comfortable and assured when choosing your new Albemarle Home.

Moving into your new Albemarle Home

For those ready to move into their new home soon below is the Government’s guidelines on moving:

• We encourage you to contact removal firms as early as possible in advance of your move.
• You and your household should also try and do as much of the packing yourself as possible. However, where this is not possible, you should speak to your removal firms in advance.
• We ask that, where possible, you clean your belongings, with standard domestic cleaning products before they are handled by others, including removal firms.
• Whilst the removers are in your home, you should ensure any internal doors are open and seek to minimise your contact with the crew, maintaining a distance of at least 2 metres where possible.
• All parties should wash their hands and avoid touching surfaces where possible to reduce the risk of transmitting the coronavirus.
• You should not provide refreshments but you should ensure they have access to handwashing facilities, using separate towels or paper towels if possible, which should be washed or disposed of safely afterwards.

Our site managers will meet all new buyers on their moving in day.  The Handing Over of the Keys procedure and Home Demonstration policy has been amended to include enhanced safety measures and, contact details of both the Site Manager and Head of Sales is now included with the new home buyer’s pack for additional advice and support after the moving in day.
